Woodbury Common, Devon
If I’m completely honest, when I first heard that ‘pre-wedding photoshoots’ were a thing part of me cringed at the thought of staged PDAs and awkwardness as people watch on! Despite this, we did think the photoshoot would be a good practise for the real thing — we both dislike the thought of us being the centre of attention… but I guess our wedding day has to be the one exception!
We planned to meet our photographer, Helen, at a place we would ordinarily go for a walk, so it made it a bit more ‘real’. She made us feel comfortable really quickly (apart from the few shots where we were sat on prickles!) — I think you’re always critical of yourself, but many of the photos are lovely and we are so happy with how the shoot went. We did initially say that we prefer more natural shots over staged ones, but Helen got a really good balance of both. She also had to put up with our slightly immature sense of humour at times!
The photoshoot has given us some great memories and we definitely feel a lot more prepared for our wedding day. I’m pretty sure Mart thinks he is a professional model now though… he puts me to shame! Lol! Anyway, enjoy the show 😉
